Indoor Training

2017 Training Dates

Indoor Training - May 17
(tentative - waiting BSD approval)
@ Bonny Slope Elementary School

Outdoor Training - July 15
@ Camp Mountaindale

This is a mandatory training.  If a PA is going to be late or unavailable they have to contact the PA Coordinator to see if arrangements can be made.

At indoor training, PAs will receive their unit assignments and meet the rest of their team.  This is also when planning begins.  It is important and the PAs responsibility that they have all their team’s contact information and to understand what they are responsible for and by when.

At this meeting, PA expectations will be covered and PAs will receive some basic unit materials (flag, foam, etc.).  This is an opportunity to ask questions and get prepared for their week at camp.  The more prepared a PA is the more confident they are when going into their week of camp.

Outdoor Training

This is a mandatory training.  If a PA is going to be late or unavailable they have to contact the PA Coordinator to see if arrangements can be made.

At outdoor training camp and units are setup up in preparation for camper arrival on Monday.  All PAs and adult leaders attend this training.  It is an opportunity to work and finalize any last minute details for your week.  Also, there will be other training provided that PAs will be expected to participate in during the day.

At outdoor training, unit supply boxes will be received and PA and adults will have the opportunity to receive other supplies that may be needed.

Unit Meetings (Optional)

Each unit can choose to setup additional planning meetings to prepare for camp.  At the very least each PA and Adult leader should have each other’s contact information and should be communicating with each other regularly to make sure that they are prepared for camp.
